I don’t own TV at my room, but fortunetely BBC provides various ways to watch Olympic games such as PC, iPad and smart phone. Recently I’ve realized TV tuner is not necessary to enjoy TV programme. After this experience, I think TV as a product became a legacy device, though a large screen is still useful.
The big screen is also provided by BBC for public viewing. It’s a attractive choice to watch the games on a sunny day.
今回のオリンピックでは、PC、iPad、Smart phoneとさまざまなスクリーンでライブ中継を楽しむことができる。直前にTVを買おうと思ったけど、やめておいてよかった。BBCはすばらしいインフラを整備し提供していると思う。
今回の中継の質を体験すると、TVはほんとにレガシー化しているという思いを強める。一緒に見る人がいれば、大画面はメリットだが、少なくともチューナー経由で電波を拾う必要はない。
BBCのiPlayerはPCで楽しむために最適化されているし、仮に有料になっても契約者は多いはず。
さて今回のオリンピックは街角にBBCによる大画面設置もあって、晴れた日はゆったりと座って楽しめる。もっとも天気は30分ごとに変化するから、びしょ濡れになる可能性も高いけれど。
視聴スタイルの多様性という点でも、今回のオリンピックは進歩してます。
