The Shard was designed by Renzo Piano, 74 year-old, architect / 74歳の建築家ピアノ氏に設計されたシャード

He said that,

“Architecture should not rely on full harmony. If everyone is agreeing, then you make a big mistake”

“London is still flux”

“It is celebrating a shift”

I know many supporters and opponents have been disputed it for 11 years.

My stance is positive, because I respect the urban planning which can accept the innovation after considering the tradition.

ロンドンの新ランドマーク、シャードは74歳のイタリア人建築家Piano氏によってデザインされた。

「建築というものは、まわりとの調和に重点を置きすぎるべきではない。もしみなが、それを認めたとすれば、建築家は重大な間違いを犯しているのだ」

「ロンドンは変化し続けている」

「この建物はシフトすることを称えている」

と彼は言う。

11年間の賛否両論を経てオープンしたシャード。

僕は伝統に革新を少しずつ置換えたり付け足していく、ロンドンの変化に対する態度が好きである。

既存や伝統を守りぬくだけではなく、敬意を払いながらも革新的なアイデアを採用して活性化していくことはいつまでも大切にしたい考え方。
