2011年8月。僕のロンドンでの生活は、ここからはじまった。だからか、とても馴染みがあるし、ロンドンの印象を語る上で欠かせない場所だ。少し前までは、この駅からユーロスターがParisまで出ていて国際ステーションとしての役割も持っていた。今はその国際線ホームは、廃線としてそのまま放置されている。
海を超えないと外国にいけない日本とは違い、ヨーロッパは鉄道でつながっている。それは、イギリスとフランスは海で分かれていたとしても。
As the starting place of my life in London, Waterloo Railway Station is my favourite one.
